Exploring China: A Culinary
Adventure is a four-part British documentary television series that aired on
BBC2. Chefs Ken Hom and Ching He Huang, both Chinese food specialists,
describing their travels through China and the recipes and personal stories
they find there.
During their trip, when Ken tasted the perking duck,
his speaking really touch me. He was surprise and touch said:” The taste of
home town was the most important thing in your heart. The food can remind you
where are you from and who you are.” When I heard his speaking, I was
shock. He is right.If I am not leave my country and study in oversea, maybe my
feeling is not strong as he said.

I am far away my country and my
home town. I always most miss that aren’t my friends and family numbers. I
always miss the food of my home town. Sometimes, oneday a few times. Because
when I go to have lunch or dinner, I will think of what I have eaten in my home
before. Also, when I eat something similar to my home’s food, that feeling will
be stronger. Of course, no matter how I ate something more delicious, I just had
remembered the taste for a short time. But my home town of taste, I can
remember at any time. That feeling is amazing. It is hard to imagine, if you
don’t have the experience about that.
My home town is in the south of
China. In my mind, the taste of my home town is many kinds of noodles. That
noodle isn’t the common noodle. Generally, the noodle is make of the wheat
flour. But my home town of noodle is make of rice flour that called rice
noodle.
I really like my home’s
rice noodle. I can eat rice noodle soup every day. They can give me a sense of
belonging.
